Since autumn 2021, Teatro Magro has started a series of theatre labs in the Casa Circondariale in Mantua.
Strong in the belief that jail must be identified as a place of rehabilitation, theatre activity works as a potential improvement agent.
With a focus on the person’s education and evolution, theatre in hail opens to communication by offering a language different from the deviating one prison population is used to, and it allows to tell new stories, know new words and understand others with a non-judgmental attitude.
The first cycle of workshops ended at the beginning of 2021, and the next two will be held in 2022.
